Parnassus Enrichment Field Trips offer students a unique opportunity to engage in enriching educational experiences outside the classroom. These trips are designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning in a variety of settings. However, please note that PEO does not provide transportation or chaperones for these field trips. It is essential that a parent or guardian is present, or arrangements are made with another family to ensure your child is supervised at all times. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

THURSDAY & Friday Mar 27/28 | Tanaka Farms: Strawberry Picking Tour Field Trip - LIMITED SPACE

Take a wagon ride around the farm. Learn about the farming methods and history of our farm from your friendly tour guide. You will see how fruits and vegetables grow! You will make one stop to pick a seasonal vegetable and one stop to pick strawberries. After the tour, visit the Barnyard Educational Exhibit where you can meet and interact with our barnyard friends. The tour is approximately 45 minutes to an hour long.

TUESDAY & THURSDAY JAN 28/30 9:45AM | Madrona Marsh - LIMITED SPACE

The Madrona Marsh Preserve is thought to be one of the last remaining vernal freshwater marshes in Los Angeles County. In the years since California’s discovery by the Europeans, development has removed virtually all of our wetlands. Migratory water fowl populations are less than 50% of what they were in 1900. Many species are now designated as threatened or endangered. The Preserve is a mix of several micro-habitats including back dune, coastal prairie, alkali margin, vernal pool and vernal marsh area and is situated within the greater El Segundo Sand Dune System. The fine sand particles of this ancient dune system have been carried from the coastal dunes by winds for thousands of years. Each of the Preserve's habitats houses its own specifically adapted native plant species.

Grab your mittens and lace up your skates—it’s time for an exciting ice skating field trip! We're thrilled to bring back a PEO fan favorite. After an hour of skating, we’ll head to Good Stuff for lunch, where you can support our dining fundraiser. Good Stuff is generously donating 20% of all purchases to PEO. Can’t make it for lunch? No worries! You can join us for dinner, as the fundraiser runs from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Just don’t forget to show the flyer!
