Christian Studies I is part of a three-year reading course that builds faith by teaching Salvation History as real history. Students work through one-third of The Golden Children’s Bible each year, for three years. Your child will learn the fundamentals of Bible stories, history, and geography, with solid detail at a manageable pace. Each lesson is comprised of a Scripture memory passage, important facts to know (including people, places, dates, and events), vocabulary, and comprehension questions that draw out the golden nuggets of meaning in each story. Maps, timelines, activities, and discussion questions offer the critical integration that is central to classical education. 

 

Grade Level: 1st to 8th Grade

During Language Arts Practicum, students are under the guidance of Learning Leaders who support them in working through home assignments, preparing for tests and quizzes, catching up on missed work, and practicing collaboration as a team. These sessions are designed to mirror a home learning day on campus, providing a balance of structure and flexibility. Students follow a rhythm that blends focused academic work with casual activities and scheduled breaks, helping them develop independence, consistency, and confidence in their studies. Subjects include Phonics & Spelling, Reading, Penmanship, and Memory Work.

laTIN FOrm series Practicum & translation supplement

(PPA Students only grades 5+) 

 

 

During Latin Form Series Practicum, students engage in structured practice with their Latin studies under the guidance of a teacher. They review forms, vocabulary, and grammar while working through exercises designed to strengthen mastery and retention. In the Translation Supplement, students receive additional guided practice in translating Latin passages with immediate feedback in a live class setting. This supplement helps reinforce accuracy, develop confidence in translation skills, and provides opportunities to ask clarifying questions. Together, these sessions support consistent progress and deeper understanding of Latin through both independent work and teacher interaction. As time allows, students will have the opportunity to work on writing & literature subjects under the teacher's guidance.

This course introduces middle and high school students to the fundamentals of visual art while encouraging creativity, self-expression, and technical skill development. Students will explore a variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, while learning essential concepts such as composition, color theory, perspective, and artistic critique. Projects are designed to challenge students’ imagination and build confidence, with opportunities to develop both individual and collaborative works. Emphasis is placed on cultivating an appreciation for art history and contemporary practices, fostering both skill and inspiration. This course is designed to align with “a–g” Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) requirements.

Practicum sessions provide guided practice, review of difficult topics, and dedicated time to complete assignments under the teacher’s supervision. Students receive immediate feedback to support mastery, build confidence, and stay on track with their curriculum.

 

Grade Levels: Students currently enrolled in Saxon Math Level 7/6 and higher or needing extra support in math.

Science in the Ancient World

Science in the Ancient World explores the discoveries and ideas of natural philosophers from 600 BC to AD 1500, tracing the development of science through history. Students investigate topics such as human anatomy, medicine, optics, heliocentrism, sound, music, magnets, steam power, combustion, levers and pulleys, plant growth, astronomy, graphing, density, erosion, and more. This hands-on, multilevel course from Berean Builders introduces scientific concepts through engaging experiments and historical context, helping students see how curiosity, observation, and creativity shaped the foundations of modern science.

 

Grade Level: 1st to 6th

Note: This course teaches from a Christian Worldview. While this isn't emphasized in every lesson, worldview perspectives are frequently raised.

This 15-week Physical Education course is designed to promote health, fitness, teamwork, and confidence through a variety of age-appropriate activities. Students will participate in skill-building exercises, cooperative games, and individual challenges that encourage coordination, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, sportsmanship, and developing lifelong healthy habits. Elementary students will focus on movement, fun, and foundational skills, while middle school students will advance into more structured games and fitness activities that build stamina, strategy, and leadership.

Acting FundamentalS and Shakespeare

Enrichment class

In this fun and active fifteen-week course, students will dive into Shakespeare’s language through engaging games, scene work, and performance. Building on selections from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Julius Caesar, students will develop an understanding of verse, character, and stagecraft while discovering the joy of bringing Shakespeare’s words to life. The course culminates in two short play performances during the semester, giving students the opportunity to share their learning and creativity with an audience.
