Parnassus Summer Reading Challenge

Students are highly encouraged to participate in PPA's Summer Reading Challenge! Summer reading suggestions may be found at PPA Summer Reading. (Select the appropriate grade level your student is comfortable reading by clicking the tabs at the bottom.) We recommend that students select books that are challenging and interesting.

  • Students entering Primary 1 - Grammar 4 in the fall are encouraged to complete the 100 Days of Summer Reading Challenge book. Books are available for purchase below.
  • Students entering Grammar 5 and up in the 2026-27 academic year are required to complete book reports, which can be printed here.

Summer Reading Challenge is due September 14/15. Please turn into you child's teacher.

Core Virtue Book Drive

Our academy has traditionally relied on the local libraries to supply these books, as there has not been a designated budget for purchasing them directly. Over the last 2 years, we’ve noticed many libraries are no longer carrying some of our cherished Core Virtue books and Site Directors are having difficulties obtaining them for our Morning Gathering lesson.

We’re now asking families to help us build our collection!

If you have any of these books at home, or would like to purchase and donate a title from our Core Virtue Book List, we would be incredibly grateful. Every book helps preserve the heart of our program and enriches our students.

Please consider contributing from the lists below (The 2026-27 year we will work off of Year 3 list):

You are welcome to drop off any book donations in the office or bring them to the Used Curriculum Sale, where we will have a donation bin set up.

Thank you for supporting our community and helping us preserve these treasured stories!
